I took this video when the initial testing phase of the new Pasadena ICIS system started to take place. It has since been placed into service with nearly every talkgroup using full P25 encryption. (so, unmonitorable) It still carries a Verdugo Fire patch that operates in digital mode. callsign WQOF435 NAC 37A System ID WACN BEE00-376 Modulation CQPSK MOT APCO P25 TDMA

Youtube objected to the Bob Dylan song I used at the end of the film. So I replaced it with a generic guitar loop track - sorry - it was the only way to save the rest of the audio track from the jaws of youtube editors. My nephew Nick Shaw K6NCS is in the film a couple of times making contacts. He was about age 11 at the time. Film by Bruce Nolte N1BN
The Pasadena Radio Club year 2000 Field Day on Cerro Negro a hill above La Canada California. This is the Field Day location for W6KA for many years going back to the 1950s. And 2000 was the final year at this site due to permits and all of the "red tape" need to secure the location. Shot on MiniDV and edited on Media 100. A film by Bruce Nolte N1BN.
